PHOENIX AC DRIVE WITH BYPASS

Every Phoenix AC Drive can be equipped with a factory installed bypass package. Bypass capability is often specified for fans, pumps and other critical applications that require redundant AC Motor control for continuous operation under all conditions. Phoenix bypass packages are factory pre-wired to simplify installation, eliminate field wiring and minimize start-up time.

The Phoenix Bypass provides better protection than most competitive bypass packages. Our VFD and Bypass Contactors are both electrically and mechanically interlocked to insure proper operation. competitive bypass packages typically include electrical interlocks only. Our Bypass package includes a VFD Service Switch (Disconnect). This allows maintenance personnel to completely isolate the VFD from the AC Power Line in Bypass Mode. Other Bypass Packages typically include no power isolation or isolation by AC Contactor only.

PHOENIX DX CLEAN POWER (18 PULSE) AC DRIVE

All across North America there are more and more manufacturers becoming concerned about the quality of their plant power. According to the department of energy, $40 billion is spent in the industrial sector alone on electric power. This equates 5 to 30% of a manufacturers total operating cost.

Poor power quality can cause downtime, damage to equipment and ultimately impact the cost of a company's electric bill through power factor and harmonic penalties. Nonlinear loads, such as AC drives, produce these undesirable harmonics. That is why we have designed a drive package that removes harmonics on the AC line.

The Phoenix DX Clean Power (18 Pulse) AC Drive meets IEEE 519-1992 for both voltage and current harmonic distortion without the need for any external filters no matter where the drive is placed in the plant. This eliminates the need for an expensive and time consuming harmonic analysis.

The Phoenix DX Clean Power drive can also be run off a motor/generator power system. Since the Phoenix is an AC drive, there is an advantage of having a total power factor of .99 throughout the entire speed range and also reduced peak current inrush demand.

AC LINE REGENERATIVE MODULE

The Ac Line Regen Module turns any PWM AC Drive into a Line Regenerative Ac Drive. Excess (regenerative) energy from the AC Motor is efficiently returned to the AC Power Line, eliminating the need for expensive, bulky and inefficient braking resistors. This is especially true when continuous braking is required.

The AC Line Regenerative Module is easy to use. They're equipped with a built in AC Line Reactor so no external reactor is ever required. There are only five wires to connect: three AC Power and two DC Bus.

The AC Line Regenerative Modules are 99% efficient and operate at near unity power factor. Modules are easily paralleled for higher power applications and a common control board is used on all voltage models.
