General

The Spectrum series drives provide variable speed control for DC Motors by varying the DC voltage applied to the motor's armature. The spectrum Controls also provide a fixed DC voltage for the motor field. Three-phase AC input power is converted to DC by the Spectrum Control. This DC voltage output varies as a function of an input reference voltage, (typically from an operator adjusted speed setting potentiometer). Changing the speed setting reference results in a corresponding motor speed change.

The basic Spectrum control is a chassis mounted controller. Spectrum 1 includes an armature contactor as standard while Spectrum2, Spectrum 3 & Spectrum 4 offer the contactor in the kit form.
