GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Pacemaster 12 power module is a three phase, full wave, AC to DC converter for precise control of motor speed and torque. This power module is comprised of several assemblies which provide power conversion, electronic regulating circuitry and protective features.

The Pacemaster 12 power module is an armature reversing, fully regenerative unit providing full control in all four quadrants. Available in four (4) basic sizes through 300 HP, it is offered as a chassis mounted version for OEMs and distributors who desire to build their own custom drive by the addition of magnetic control, logic and protective devices.

The Pacemaster 12 is a high performance unit with conservatively rated power components. Each power module is jumper selectable for operation by either 208, 230, 380 or 460 volts AC. In addition, horsepower, armature voltage feedback scaling and field current are jumper selectable to match requirements of the DC motor. Pre-tested logic semi-conductors, high frequency and transient voltage protection, adjustable current limit and solid-state motor overload protection assist in providing reliability of the system and protection for driven equipment.

  • RE-CONNECTABLE OPERATION -Jumper selectable for operation by 208, 230, 380 or 460 VAC, 3f, 50/60 Hz.
  • HORSEPOWER CALIBRATION - Jumper selectable horsepower calibration to any standard rating within a module's range.
  • PHASE SEQUENCE INSENSITIVITY allows operation irrespective of AC input phase connection order.
  • ISOLATED FEEDBACK - Armature voltage and current feedback signals are isolated from the AC power source.
  • DIRECT LINE OPERATION - No isolation transformer required
  • FIELD CURRENT REGULATOR WITH FIELD ECONOMY - Built in adjustable current regulator maintains a constant field current during changes in motor operating temperature. Field current scaling is jumper selectable.

  • ELECTRONIC MOTOR OVERLOAD with inverse time function.
  • HEAT-SINK THERMOSTAT helps protect SCRs from over-temperature.
  • CURRENT SURGE PROTECTION (di/dt) - Ferrite core inductors provided in the DC line to limit the effects of potentially damaging current surges.
  • VOLTAGE TRANSIENT PROTECTION - Metal oxide suppressors across the AC line combined with R-C networks (Snubber) across the power bridge are used to limit potentially damaging voltage spikes from the AC power source.
