GENERAL
DESCRIPTION
The TIX-1 Amplifier when
combined with a pair of UL Listed, patented CLEVELAND-KIDDER
semi-conductor strain gauge transducers and a UL Listed taut band
tension meter provides an accurate, safe means of measuring web tension
in hazardous Class I, Group A, B, C, or D atmospheres. The transducers,
may be installed directly in the hazardous area without purging. Located
on each end of sensing idler roll, they assure true measurement of total
web tension.
The TIX-1 Amplifier contains a
regulated D.C. Power Supply to provide intrinsically Safe excitation
current to the transducers through UL Listed and approved cables.
Transducer output signals are summed in a Whetstone bridge circuit, and
are conditioned to display tension on a wide scale taut band meter.
Because of high signal levels, the TIX-1 Amplifier and/or meter may be
remotely located from the transducers (in excess of 100ft. away if
desired).
